The District of Lantzville plans to remove and replace the Huddlestone Park playground equipment in 2018 due to its age, condition and safety concerns, and to ensure that the Park remains a fun and safe place to play. There are only so many play pieces that we can pack into one playground within the available footprint (110 m2) and budget so we are engaging the public to help us select the most popular and safe pieces within the available budget.

The Parks and Recreation Commission has been engaging the community and Huddlestone Park visitors to provide input to help us prioritize the types of equipment preferred and to develop concept options. We've heard from big kids (community adults) and little kids (community children)! We've consulted with playground experts: some of our local school students! In addition to the input received from students at Aspengrove and Seaview Elementary, 111 people completed the survey posted on our website and mailed in February 2018 to households throughout Lantzville! See below for the survey results.

The Invitation to Tender for the replacement of the Huddlestone Park playground equipment closes on July 9, 2018.

Huddlestone Park is closed for bookings during the construction period September 10, 2018 to October 20, 2018, inclusive.

NOTE: Any individuals, groups or corporations interested in sponsoring playground equipment, please contact the Municipal Hall at 250.390.4006 or Email:
