The Climate Action Revenue Incentive Report (CARIP) was introduced in 2008 to offset the carbon tax paid by local governments who have committed to the goal of becoming carbon neutral in their corporate operations by 2012 under the BC Climate Action Charter.
In 2014 the District of Lantzville was required to keep track of carbon taxes paid, and received a grant of $875 in 2015, equal to the amount of carbon tax paid by the District. In accepting this grant, the District is required to report publicly on its plan and progress toward meeting its climate action goals. The reporting template outlines actions taken each year and intended actions for the following year related to climate action goals.
