At its Regular Meeting on May 26, 2014, Council adopted “District of Lantzville Zoning Bylaw No. 60, 2005, Amendment Bylaw No. 60.29, 2014,” permitting market gardening operations as home based businesses. The bylaw is focused on enabling market gardening as a commercial home based business, and does not affect backyard gardening for household consumption, which is encouraged and not regulated through zoning.

This bylaw is the result of public engagement, communications received at the Urban Agriculture Ideas Jam in September, as well as a variety of research.
