The District would like to take this opportunity to remind the community that with construction, whether it be residential or commercial, there is the potential that Development Cost Charges (DCCs) may be applicable. DCCs are a means by which a local government can offset the costs associated with infrastructure and the expansion of existing local services through the creation and implementation of DCCs.

In 2018, Council considered a report providing an update on Development Cost Charges: District of Lantzville Development Cost Charge Bylaw No. 52, 2006 Update Technical Report Oct 2018

On January 28, 2019, after approval of a new DCC Bylaw by the Inspector of Municipalities, Council adopted Development Cost Charges Bylaw No. 154, 2018:

    The District of Lantzville began charging DCCs in April 2007 after receiving a report from Koers Engineering in January 2007 regarding DCCs in Lantzville: DCC Report - Koers Engineering (January 2007). On April 16, 2007, Council of the District of Lantzville adopted Development Cost Charge Bylaw 52.
